I’m back again with the review of a few skincare products. I have tried and reviewed a few Auravedic products in the past as well, you can read those posts here and here. Since the last few years I have been leaning towards using products with less chemicals and more natural composition. You never know what may aggravate your skin and cause acne or in my case Eczema. There are a lot of brands these days that are coming out with natural and organic products. Even Baba Ramdev is launching product after product in his line Patanjali but I dont like the fact that most of his products have Parabens. Read on to know more about the Auravedic skin lightening/polishing range.
Price – 450/- for the cream and 400/- for the polish- each, might be available for lesser online
First of all let me start off by saying that I in no way support or approve of lightening your skin. I think your focus should always be on getting the best skin texture possible instead of a lighter skintone. We should celebrate our natural skin colour. It’s a shame that people are constantly looking to get 10 shades fairer or something in India while people in some countries are using fake tan to get a darker complexion. Why I use most of these products is to help with my skin pigmentation and skin marks from any left over acne. There was a time when I used to look for fairness products etc but as I grew up I realized what matters more is how beautiful you are on the inside instead of what you look like on the outside. We should all learn to accept ourselves for what we are not try to conform to unrealistic beauty standards.
Now that the little rant is over, let us move on with this review 🙂
SKIN LIGHTENING CREAM
I have tried the Auravedic Skin Lightening cream once in the past and believe me back then it had a different texture than it does now. I will be honest, I did not finish the previous one that I had because it just felt so dry and weird on my skin. The new cream has a more mousse like texture and spreads evenly on the skin. You are not left with a dry or oily skin afterwards. I mean it feels neither drying nor too moisturizing. I think people with oily skin will enjoy this more. Those with dry and very dry skin should look for a facial oil. It did not cause any breakouts on my skin and does not seem to clog pores.
The Auravedic skin lightening cream sometimes stings my eczema a little bit but that does not last too long. I used this consistently for about a month and a half and did not notice much change in my skin pigmentation or the lightening of the marks. I recently had a bad hormonal breakout phase on my chin which has left so many marks which were not lightened by this. I think there is something about my skin that never complies with their lightening products. Things that work for most other people don’t quite work on me. I wont be repurchasing this mainly because it did not work for me and it stings my eczema a bit but if the oil has worked for you in the past then you should give this one a go too.
RADIANCE BY NATURE FACE POLISH
I did try another polish/scrub by Auravedic in the past which had such big particles which were not concentrated enough and I did not enjoy that much. The radiance by nature face polish on the other hand is such an excellent scrub. It has micro particles which are not too abrasive and then work so well with the skin. You can instantly feel the skin a lot smoother just after scrubbing it for a few minutes. This reminds me of the St.Ives scrubs that I have used in the past and I think the quality of this is very comparable to the high end scrubs.
The Auravedic Face Polish did not make my skin feel dry whatsoever after using this. Sometimes I use it alone and sometimes I mix it with another scrub to get a good clean face. It’s not as glowy as they claim but it gets the job done effectively. I love this product and I am totally repurchasing this when I run out of it. I do recommend this to you guys who are looking for affordable skin polishes.
Overall I think Auravedic does some good products and some okay kind of products. You really need to try everything for yourself to see if it works for you or not.
I hope this helps some of you who are looking to purchase something from the brand 🙂 Let me know if you have any questions.
