Hey girls
The colourpop Ultra fan is back with another Colourpop review. I’m sorry, I can’t help it, I am just addicted. Seeing the price colourpop retails at, I just want to buy everything they have. I was just going through my Colourpop stash and went ‘Oh I have this one too. Oh this as well’. I have built a collection of it and sometimes just tend to forget which colours I have. But so far I just have one Ultra Metalic lipstick because they were not a big hit with Nikkie Tutorials so I was a little skeptical trying it out. Read on to know what I think about it 🙂
Price – $6
Availability – www.colourpop.com (starting next week they will be shipping free worldwide over $50), various Instagram pages
The first few shades of Ultra metallic lips that Colourpop launched were all dark ones. I had ordered this back then. The colours were so pretty that I was kind of confused but I settles on 3-Way which is a purple maroon with flecks of beautiful gold and silver shimmer throughout. The colour in itself is so stunning and I think it would suit every skintone. Everyone in my home loves it.
I have heard that a lot of these don’t have a good pigmentation but honestly that was not a problem that I faced. Mine is perfectly pigmented and goes on so smooth and opaque in just 2 or 3 swipes. It covers the lips completely and does not smudge or feather. It transfers just a teeny tiny bit from the corners of the lips.
The staying power is very impressive as well. It lasts for about 4-5 hours including meals and drinks. After a full meal, it fades a little bit from the inner side of the lips. The best part about this is that it does not clump and come off like some of my other liquid lipsticks. It can feel a little bit drying but nothing that a good lip balm underneath cannot fix. I have such dry lips thanks to Eczema and this never feels uncomfortable on me.
I am already looking forward to ordering one of the lighter shades in this range. My mother loves using this one a lot as well. It’s the perfect colour every age and skintone can rock. My next pick is going to be Flitter which looks like a gorgeous glittery peach colour that is totally ME.
Overall, if you want to get a nice glitter lipstick but dont want to spend too much then do look into this one. Once colourpop starts free shipping over $50, it will be the perfect time to stock up on all the colours that are in your wishlist.
Here is how it looks on me, I am wearing no base makeup in these pictures and it still looks great.
PROS:
- Great pigmentation
- Lasts long
- Opaque
- Does not smudge
- Does not crack or settle into lip lines
- Comfortable to wear
CONS:
- None for me really
My rating – 5/5
