Essence lipstick: In the N*de review!

I am back with yet another Lip product review. Seems like lipsticks are my most bought makeup item. I love love love all lip products and they probably rule my collection. Today I am reviewing a lipstick I just bought on impluse from Amazon. I didnt really need it ( when do we ever need a makeup product ) but I just bought it because I saw it was available online. I always tend to buy everyday natural colours more. This lipstick is always in my hand bag for touch ups and I just love it. Read on to know why.

First of all if you only love pigmented and full coverage lipsticks this one is not for you. This is a very sheer almost colourless lipstick which is best when used over a lip liner. It will be the perfect lipstick for people who go to college as it’s not too bright. The texture I find is more like a lip balm, in between Mac’s Lustre finish and a lip balm actually. It glides on so smoothly and makes your lips look very healthy. Pretty much hides all the cracks and lip lines and give a soft finish.

The fragrance is a bit artificial but it does not linger on for too long. It smells like the lipglosses etc we had when we were little. I dont think it has a taste, I never lick my lips if I have a lip balm or lipstick on them so cant comment on that really.

Coming to the colour. It is a very very sheer natural finish lip colour that is sure to wash out people with darker skintones. It sometimes washes me out as well as it’s very light and my lips are completely unpigmented. I always use it over a lip liner to get a more natural finish and the perfect sheen. The colour itself is fleshtoned n*de. I believe the name is so apt for this one. The lasting power is very less as it is a sheer finish and has a balmy texture. Lasts only about 2 hours after which you need to reapply this.

I honestly love this one so much. In a short time it has become one of my most used lip colours as I always use it on top of lip liners for a more natural finish. It just makes my lips look so healthy and smooth. If you dont mind sheer finish, light colours then I urge you to give this one a try. I dont think you will be disappointed at this price rate.

I added in lots of lip swatches in different lights and with different cameras to give you a better idea of the shade. This is when used without a lip liner.
