Gerard Cosmetics Lip Glosses – Nude, Plum Crazy and Cocoa Bean Review!

Hey everyone

If you remember a post I did in June (here) you’ll know I ordered a lot of Gerard Cosmetics Glosses. These were on my wishlist since ages and when they had the free worldwide shipping option I finally bit the bullet and ordered them. My package came in about 15 days and I was not charged any customs (yay). I first saw these lipglosses on my favourite youtuber Carli Bybel and I have wanted the colour N*de since then. These are definitely some of the best lip glosses I have ever used. Read on to know more of my thoughts 🙂

Price – $40 for 5. It’s in a set called Cinco De lipgloss

So the three colours I am reviewing today are all in the same Brown/Neutral colour family. The shades Plum Crazy and Cocoa Bean are both a little bit darker and sooo pretty on all skintones. I used them on my mom and they looked absolutely amazing on her. The colour N*de is a peachy colour which would work best on fair to medium skintones but darker beauties can totally pull it off with a nice smokey eye or with a darker lip liner. I mostly use it with a lip liner too.

The pigmentation of these is insane. I mean imagine someone melted a lipstick and added a bit of a shine in it. It is that good. These are on par with my Nyx Butter glosses. I absolutely love the darker shades, they are more pigmented than the lighter ones. These do feel a bit sticky on the lips which is why they do last a lot longer than average lipglosses. The fragrance is a bit like Vanilla which I loveee but I have noticed that the same fragrance does not run through all of them. Most of them smell a bit different. The doe shaped wand makes it easy to put these on and they have a nice mirror like finish.

The main problem I had with these is that they did go into my liplines and bled a little bit. Maybe if you use a matching lip liner that would reduce that a bit. I do have a lot of lip lines on and around my lips because of chronic eczema so that problem might just be more prominent with me.

Oh I almost forgot to talk about the coolest part of these – the inbuilt light and the attached mirror. They make it so easy to put this on in the dark and mind you gets a lot of attention haha. To some it maybe a bit hard to put on the lipgloss with the light shining on your lips but I find it easy to see where all the gloss is missing and makes it easy getting into all corners.

Overall, I think for $40 this is just such a good buy. If you are into lipglosses I am sure you are going to love these. They’re that good!

PROS:

  1. Affordable
  2. Amazing pigmentation
  3. Innovative packaging
  4. Nice fragrance
  5. Better staying power than most glosses
  6. No custom charges on my order

CONS:

  1. Bleeds and goes into lip lines

My rating – 4.5/5

See you all real soon with another look 🙂
