Hey Everyone

How are you all? How was your weekend? Mine was full of nice rest and lots of food hehe. I wonder how many of you suffer from chronic dark circles. I have such dark and huge ones and they seem to be hereditary. I have pretty much given up on the hope of being free of them forever. My only dark circles friends are concealers now. I have tried so many things, but no luck. Today I will review my new anti dark circle friend that I have been using everyday to hide them properly. Read on to know more about it.

The biggest problem if you have really dark, dark circles is that when you try to conceal them everything looks so ashy and grey. It’s just so hard to find that one colour that matches perfectly. For me if I dont use a corrector, the best concealer colour is one that has a bit of a peach/orange undertone to it. The problem with that is, I need to make sure I only use that over the dark circles, if it goes anywhere else on my face it makes that area look a bit peachy and unnatural. I have tried so many methods of concealing dark circles and the one I am describing today works the best for me.

This creme corrector comes in a wide variety of shades. I didnt really know about it until I saw Goss Makeup artist mention this as one of the highest coverage concealers he had ever tried. After seeing such positive reviews from him, I had to try it out for myself. I did a little research and found a guy selling these on ebay. I thought for a bit and ordered a corrector instead of a concealer because I prefer liquid concealers for the undereye area as it is a dry area for me. The packaging is a tub one, I use fingers to take some of it out but make sure to sanitize my hands before just to avoid any bacteria.

The texture is a very hard creme like one. I can imagine how hard it will be to use in the winter time. The plus point is that you dont need too much for the undereyes or any darker areas so it’s easy to warm it up on the fingers. It spreads easy and is very blendable. I make sure to apply this only to the darker parts and avoid any areas that can be avoided. I will try to do a tutorial on correcting and concealing soon so you guys can have a better idea of what I am talking about.

I feel that for concealing dark areas, it is better to use a creme corrector instead of a liquid one because you dont really need to blend it out too much as it will be covered up anyway. The best combination that I have found so far is a creme corrector + light concealer. That is what works the best for me. They say blue is counteracted by orange, that is why if you have a blue undertone then orange corrector is the best.

Make sure that if you use an orange corrector, you follow it up with a concealer that is atleast two skintones lighter than your skin colour. If you use a darker one, your undereye area will end up looking as much darker. I use Maybelline Undereye Dark Circle Eraser in the colour medium, it works the best for me and really gives me the best coverage.

Overall, I would say if dark circles are your problem then invest in a peach (if you are very light skinned) or orange (if you are medium to dark skinned) corrector and a concealer lighter than your skin. Play around a bit and you will find out the best way to conceal and get rid of them. I will try to have a tutorial up soon 🙂
