Hello beautiful people
I’m back with another review. This time of a Kajal. I’ve always really trusted Lotus herbals products and bought any new launches that there were, so how could I not buy this pretty looking kajal in a hot pink package. It seemed like a very good buy having really nice pigmentation. Read on to know how I feel about it.
Price – 199/-
Kajal is such a cult favourite product in India. I dont really use Kajal for everyday, I prefer mascara and eyeliner but I do like to use it for special occasions and just on days I feel dressy. This Kajal pencil has a really good pigmentation. It glides on so smoothly. The good part is that it lasts a really long time as well. It’s pretty much smudge proof for atleast 4 hours.
Now coming to the bad part and the thing that bothers me the most. I have no idea what the ingredients for this thing are but there has to be something that makes my eyes instantly tired. Being a herbal brand I thought it must be refreshing or soothing. Looks like whatever they put in to make it soothing, they literally went overboard. As soon as I put this thing in my waterline, my eyes become so heavy and tired. I just want to close my eyes and rest for sometime. Can you believe that happening when you are at work? It is so annoying. This is one of the main reasons I stopped using it. It’s such a shame since this is literally sooo pigmented!
Believe me, my eyes are not even sensitive, they dont get allergic etc. At first I believed that it was only happening with me, maybe there’s something wrong with my eyes. I met my cousin a few days ago and she mentioned that her kajal is making her eyes so tired and she feels sleepy when she puts it on. I immediately asked her if it’s the one with the pink packaging. Turns our this was our culprit again! Would you believe, two people with the same problem? I dont know if we got defective packages or if this thing is actually like this.
Overall, I would not recommend this to anyone. You can spend this much money and go buy the colossal instead. I wish I could say more, but I cant write a positive review to something that I cant even use anymore.
PROS:
1. Highly pigmented
2. Lasts long
3. Affordable
4. Easily available
CONS:
1. Makes eyes tired as soon as you put it on.
My rating – 2/5
See you all soon 🙂

I agree completely! At first I thought, maybe I really did get tired. But I noticed the difference when I switched brands, and realised it was the Lotus kajal that was making me drowsy! So scary, I’m never going to use this again!
