Maybelline ColorShow Creamy Matte in Pop of Pink review!

Hello girlss

I am back with the review of this newly launched Maybelline colorshow collection. I absolutely loved the first regular Color show collection so I had to give some colour from this range a try. I am not a very big matte fan, but I like trying out new things. I believe there are 10 different colours launched with this range, I picked up a pink one this time as I dont think I have many light pinks. Read on to know my thoughts on it.

So the packaging is a little bit different from the other colorshow one, it is matte black which I guess goes well with the whole Matte theme. The fragrance is also the same, the old lipstick like smell. I am not a big fan of it as it comes on too strong.

The colour I chose is a light pink which leans a bit on the neon side. I think it will suit people with fair to medium skintones and may look a bit stark on the darker skintones. I would say go for a darker shade in this one if you choose to give this range a try. On me it looks baby pink kinds with a hint of neon. It is the kind of colour which makes you a look a little bit darker than you actually are.

The texture is not very smooth infact it is a bit waxy. It is a bit odd and does not provide even coverage in the first swipe. You need to go over the colour multiple times to get an even looking finish. The problem is, if you go on too many times, it looks very weird and gets into all the lip lines and emphasizes any lip imperfections. I have seen better finish on matte lipstick. This sadly has not been too impressive but at this price point you cannot really complain. Also it is a bit drying, so better use a lip balm underneath as it gives it a smoother finish and does not feel as drying.

The staying power is very average. It fades from the center part of the lips when you eat or drink something and lasts only about 4 hours maximum. If you reapply on top of that it can end up looking very patchy so I would say it’s better to completely wipe it off before reapplying.

If you are searching for a matte lipstick within this price range then give this a go, otherwise if you dont mind the price, I would recommend Lakme’s Absolute Matte range which has a nicer texture and staying power.
