Hey girls
Happy Lohri! Hope you’re getting through the week fine 🙂 Today is the first day it feels like it’s January here. It rained all night and now there is no sun here in Punjab. I’m kind of liking the change, finally it feels like Winters! Today I am reviewing the new launch by Maybelline which is their matte liner from the Hyper matte series. I have not tried the Hyper Glossy one because I am not a big fan of the shiny black liquid liners so when I saw they launched these I just had to get one.
Price – 325/-
The packaging had an outer plastic thing that had more information about it but I was in a big rush to open and apply mine so I tore it apart 😛 Sorry! The basic packaging only comes with the Hyper Matte thing written on it. The brush is not a felt tip one, it is an actual liner brush kinds. I am used to both but I prefer these ones a little bit more. It makes it very easy to get a crisp sharp line. The brush bends easily. Nothing bad on that end at all!
The liner I would not say is completely matte. The finish is between Matte and Satin. On the eyes it does look pretty matte so it doesnt bother me much. It is waterproof until you rub it. If you do rub it, it comes off in a crumbly sort of manner. So whatever you do, do not rub it especially when it is wet.
The staying power is pretty good. It lasts around 7 hours easily after which it fades from wherever you touch it. My eyes have eczema so I am always itching them especially around the inner corner. So if you do that it does come off. I kind of prefer my gel liner for that reason. The pigmentation of this is pretty good, goes opaque in a single swipe.
I totally love my Maybelline gel liner (Review here) but let’s face it, its not the go to if you are in a rush. You need a bit of a time to work with a gel liner. In that matter I prefer this one because I can just pick it up and put it on. Its easy to do a winged liner with this one too because it has a very thin tip. I’m sorry I am not including swatches of it on my eyes. My skin is just going crazy these days. The eczema is sooo bad. I have had to hold off on some posts because of that.
Overall, I really like the liner especially for the price they retail at. I have to say Maybelline has always been so good with their Indian prices and I hope they continue with that.
PROS:
1. Affordable
2. Lasts long
3. Thin tip
4. Jet black
5. Pigmented
CONS:
1. Not completely waterproof
My rating – 4.5/5
See ya 🙂
