Hey Girls
How’s your week going? When I woke up this morning I literally could not believe that it’s just Wednesday, honestly feels like Friday to me 😐 Such a long week. Hope you are having a cooler week than mine haha. I am reviewing my favourite concealer today. I have tried sooo many concealers but nothing erased my dark circles (I love the LA girl one too but the shade is not a good match). I have finally found a routine that works for me and I am so excited about it. I will still keep on researching more methods of erasing dark circles completely but for now this is what works best for me.
Price – $7-10 depending on where you get it from, in India its about 1100 INR on Ebay.
The packaging is very interesting with a sponge on the top. I have no idea if they wanted people to blend with this sponge too but that thing makes it easy to apply the concealer in a more spread out manner. You need to twist one side to get some more product out. The first time I used it I had to twist it quite a lot of times to get some product squeezed out.
The colour I chose is Medium because I think that would go best for the Indian skintone. I didnt want to order something too dark or too light because I planned on using it on top of my Kryolan Derma colour (Review is here). The safest bet at any time is the colour medium because if it is a bit light you can always use it over the orange corrector and if its a bit dark then you can make it work without a corrector. I’m glad I got this colour because its a good match over the corrector and gives a smooth finish to the area.
The texture is very creamy and pigmented. It is so easy to blend and does not get into any fine lines. I always set it with a powder on top because all the concealers crease otherwise. The best setting method that I have observed is to use the powder in a baking method with my Flormar powder (Review is here).
The colour is very neutral with a teeny tiny bit of yellow undertones. I have observed that with a corrector using a concealer with a yellow undertones works the best. The next time I may get the Neutralizer shade in this to see if that works better but for now I am really happy with this concealer. I urge you all to give it a try, you will surely like it.
You can see in the swatch below that the colour matches my skintone exactly. I had quite a hard time photgraphing it. I have used this concealer in this post as well. In the below eye picture also I have used this concealer.
PROS:
1. Does not settle into fine lines
2. Good colour selection
3. Affordable
4. Lasts long
5. Blends easily
CONS:
1. Animal tested brand 🙁 Please stop Maybelline!
My rating – 4/5
See you all soon! x
