So as promised I am back with something other than Colourpop 😛 I am totally digging the matte lipsticks and lipstains these days. These Nyx Soft Matte ones have literally been around forever but somehow I never got around to trying them. I always thought they would be too drying for me so I never really got myself any. I am a big fan of their Butter Glosses (See the reviews here and here). My sister gifted me a few of these Nyx ones and I am loving them since then. Read on to know more 🙂
Price – $5 I think
Availability – Sephora India and Insta stores
The colour I am reviewing today is a beautiful berry shade that is so perfect for winters. Its not too bright or too dark and is very easy to carry. The shade would suit all of the skintones and is very subtle and beautiful. Every time I put it on, it instantly brightens my complexion.
The texture and finish is literally like a lipstick that has been melted with some vaseline in it. That is exactly how it feels on the lips as well. It is a tiny bit waxy but does not cause any discomfort. It glides on smoothly and is not as matte or pigmented as my colourpop ultra matte ones. It takes about two or three swipes to get a very opaque colour. In just one go it does not cover all of the lips properly because it is a bit thin in texture.
These are not completely transfer proof like some other liquid lipsticks I have tried. It does transfer but its a lot lesser than a regular lipstick. The staying power is about 5-6 hours between which it does fade unevenly. Since it’s not transfer proof types, you can always smudge it with your finger to cover the lips properly again. It does not dry out my lips at all since its not the proper liquid lipstick types.
Overall, I love these very much. If you find the other liquid lipsticks drying you should try these out. I am excited to try the new Nyx Lingerie Liquid lipsticks as well. Such a great brand!
