Hey Guys
How have you all been? I have been wanting to edit my Youtube videos since so long but I just cannot get around to it, it’s been a busy and tiring few days. Today I am reviewing my current favourite foundation. A while ago I asked my blogger friends for affordable foundation suggestions and a lot of them asked me to try out the Loreal Mat Magique foundation and I am so glad I listened to them. Revlon Colorstay used to be my favourite foundation (Review here) but my repurchased foundation has a completely different shade to the one that I used to own and that has left me so disappointed. I was on the look out for a new one which wasn’t too pricey because I don’t use foundation on an everyday basis. I mostly just use it for my Youtube videos or certain makeup looks so anything affordable would work well. Read on to know my experience about this one 🙂
Price – 595/- for 30 ml

The trickiest part to buying foundations online is getting a good shade match. Luckily the shade G1 Gold Ivory is a perfect match for my skintone. It has the perfect yellow undertone and is not too pink or light for me. The packaging of the Loreal Mat Magique foundation is so girly and pink. It’s a tube that you can squeeze and control the amount of product you need. It’s good to start with little product and then add more if you need more coverage.
The foundation spreads easily and as the name Mat Magique suggests it is very mattifying however I don’t find that it makes me look too dry and flat. If you want more of a glow on top of it, you can top it off with a setting spray. I have used the Loreal Mat Magique on lots of special occasions and in a few of my looks as well. The foundation wears nicely throughout the day. On me it does get into my smile lines but to be honest a lot of the other ones do as well. I haven’t tried baking that area yet maybe that will help with the smile line creases.
Loreal Mat Magique has a good coverage. In one go it provides medium to full coverage depending on how much product you use. I always apply a thin layer first and then apply another if I feel like I need it. It works well with both Beauty Blenders and kabuki brushes. I like using Beauty Blenders more because they take away any of the excess product. For my friend’s wedding I applied two layers with the original beauty blender and boy was my foundation full coverage. It covered most of my imperfections including a few of the spots and also the pigmentation.
This foundation wears so well throughout the day as well. I did my makeup around 6PM and it still looked good until 2 AM. I don’t think any product wears for around 12 hours so that is just a very far stretched claim. My problem area has always been my chin. All foundations break apart there and I just cannot figure out why. Using a primer, this foundation and then following up with a setting spray helps a lot. My foundation still did break a little bit but you could only notice it up close. Loreal Mat Magique controls my oily T zone oil nicely. It does not look greasy and did not break me out either. I wasn’t expecting much from this product but I admit this has wow-ed me with it’s quality at this price.
Overall, if you are looking for an affordable high coverage foundation then give the Loreal Mat Magique a go. Sadly it has only 5 shades but I hope some of you would be able to find a good match. Its quite sad that Indian markets don’t have a lot of shade range in their base makeup. I think this is something that really needs to change.
I have used this foundation in this outfit post here.

See you all soon 🙂

I Love this foundation to the T.. It is my go to foundation for everyday and anyday wear. It has medium to buildable coverage yet it looks so NATURAL. Also the price tag makes it a complete steal, I am on my second tube already… Boy! Need I say I Love it so much?
