Hey Girls
Sorry I have been missing for a while. I did not have much Internet access so wasnt able to do any blogposts. New Eye makeup posts coming soon too 🙂 Today I am reviewing the Banana shampoo and conditioner from The Body Shop. I have thin, frizzy, wavy hair that gets impossible to tame at times so I am always on the lookout for products that can help me control the frizz. Read on to know what I think about this shampoo and conditioner 🙂
Price – 795/- for each
The price is pretty damn expensive for the quantity that you get but I guess it is expected seeing that it comes from the Body Shop. You get 250 ml of product in both. I got both the shampoo and conditioner because I wanted to see how they fare together.
The fragrance is that of banana but it is not too strong. I love the fragrance really. It’s so fresh and nice. The shampoo does not have any chemicals like Dimethicone so it is really nice for you hair plus it is non animal tested which is amazing as well. I have stopped using products with chemicals since sometime because I already have thin hair and I dont like taking much chances with it.
I use the shampoo twice and a good amount of the conditioner. One thing that I have noticed is that the shampoo does not lather too much on the first round maybe because of the oil on the hair. The second round of shampoo gives you a very nice lather and you need to use very little quantity on the second go. I honestly dont like using too much because it’s a tiny bottle and I am scared I will finish it within a month 😛 The conditioner is thick and it is a little bit tricky trying to spread it throughout the hair length but it’s not too hard.
One day I just tried to spread the conditioner through my hair by using a wide tooth comb. I tell you, worst hair wash decision ever for my hair. My hair was so crazy tangled so soooo many of them came out. I almost had a stroke :-o. I managed to get all the tangles out but lost so much hair in the process and also lost all volume which led my hair looking so thin. So if you have curly hair, I would suggest you stick to using your fingers as a comb instead of using an actual comb. I thought I did not have much hairfall until that time in the shower. I tell you, never again!
My hair feels so smooth after using this shampoo and conditioner. It is soft to the touch and smells nice too. I have noticed maybe 20% reduction in hairfall. It does not define my curls which is a bummer but I dont mind that since I have started using foam rollers to get a better curl definition. I will review the foam rollers as soon as I form a proper opinion.
Overall, I am really enjoying using this shampoo and conditioner for now. Will I repurchase? I am not 100% sure as of now, maybe I will see if we have other chemical free options in the market by then which are less expensive. Let me know if you have used this shampoo and what you think 🙂
PROS:
1. No chemicals
2. Smells great
3. Not tested on animals
4. Makes hair smooth
5. Reduces hairfall a bit
CONS:
1. The price for sure!
See you all soon

Ugh just rechecked the ingredient list with the US site and apparently it does have SLS 😐 It’s dimethicone that it does not have. Better edit the post!!

Nice review 🙂
I have used the sample of this long back, you know those sachets thing which TBS give. It dint make any difference, I never purchased it. I am using Just herbs shampoo and Soultree conditioner, all that natural thing works nicely on my hair and defo cheaper than this.

I always detangle hair beforw washing that ensures less hairfall while washing and never use comb is my suggestion too 🙂
