How was your week? I am really looking forward to this weekend. I want to make a visit to the new H&M store here in Mohali. It’s officially my birthday month so I think a bit more shopping is due. Hope you had a nice week. I am posting this look that I gave you a sneak peek of this week. I am in love with people’s cut crease looks so I keep trying them out on myself. I am not entirely happy with how this one came out but I think it looks decent nevertheless. I think I will keep practicing until I am happy with how it looks. This one is an all matte look with no shimmer at all. I love shimmer shadows so much but I think this was a nice welcome change. I will list all products used down below. So as promised I am doing the look you all requested me to do yesterday. I think every year everyone is always on the lookout for Aishwarya’s red carpet looks at the Cannes film festival. She always does something unique and different. This time she wore very experimental blue eye makeup with a beige sparkly dress. The makeup was a hit and miss with some people. I quite liked the makeup look though. It is so summery and fresh and I am totally doing it again soon. I did not have the exact pencil liners that she used but I made do with the things that I had. I will list all the details below for you all.
I did not shoot this post in my usual place since it was too hot and I kept on sweating my face off. I dont know if it was just me but I felt the temperature outside was way too hot yesterday. I dont think a center part is really my thing so I switched to my usual side part. Let me know what you think of my recreation 🙂

So I tried something different and something artistic yesterday. You know me, I love trying out different eye makeup looks and I love experimenting. I dont remember on whose Instagram video I first saw that you can use a liquid lipstick as an eyeliner but it is a great tip you guys! It’s so easy to use and applies so smooth. I ordered my first eyeshadows from MakeupGeek (ordered through lamakeupaffaire) and I am loving them. I ordered through the Insta page ‘lamakeupaffaire’ and you wont believe I literally got my parcel in under 24 hours! Super impressed!

I have a new Eye makeup look for you all today. I keep seeing these wonderful eye makeup pictures from self taught makeup artists on Instagram and it really inspires me to try new things and do different looks. I honestly wish I could be half as good as them one day. People these days are so talented!
The makeup look I am posting today is a classic black/grey smokey eye. It’s actually supposed to be black but my camera did not pick up the colours correctly. I did not want the look to be too dark, so I used a golden liner on top of the normal black winged liner to give it that extra oomph. For the inner corner, I chose loose golden glitter from Inglot to get that shine and sparkle. This is definitely a look you can wear for any night time functions. I think it would be a little too much for day events. This would look so nice with a clubbing outfit or any cocktail parties.
The eye shadow I used in the crease area is from the freedom system shadows of Inglot. I picked this shadow up a couple of years ago thinking it’s oh so pretty. Later I realized it was a bit too red and sparkly to be used normally. I think I have now found ways to make it work and will be trying a look with a red/copper eye.

I hope you’ve seen my post on how to conceal dark circles, if you haven’t then click here to read it. When I was done with that post, I thought I would click some pictures to show you all my eye makeup for that day. I just used a gold coloured eyeshadow and blended it out with a lighter mauve shade. Nothing too dramatic. I did my eyeliner in the Arabic winged style but while showing the concealer routine I kind of went over the liner hehe 🙂 Also I did not use any bottom lash mascara or falsies in this look. My lashes can get so annoying at times. Some days they are nice and long while on the other days they refuse to stay curled and just point to the floor. This was one of those days. I am so not happy with my current mascara but I am trying my best to get full use of it before I throw it out. I will be buying my trusty Maybelline the Flasies again (Reviewed here).

So I am finally doing this post on dark circles that I have been meaning to do since so long. I have horrendous brown dark circles which make me look so tired all the time. I have had them since I was very young and I dont see them going away anytime soon. Te next best thing would be to hide them nicely. I have been trying so many different concealers and techniques to hide them but was never that satisfied until now. I have found the way that works the best for me. I think if you are suffering from bad dark circles that are a trouble to hide, this post may come in handy 🙂

The thing with medium to fair skin and dark circles is that you can never find something that does not make them look grey. If you match the concealer to your dark circles then they get covered but the under eye area looks so much darker than the rest of the face and if you match the concealer with your skin colour then the dark circles start looking grey. Its such a hit and trial with some products. I remember sitting at MAC to get a concealer for my under eye and the MUA struggled so much. She first went to the darker shades like NC 42 or NC 45 and they covered them up for sure but my eye area was an entirely different colour compared to the rest of my face. After much struggle she asked for help from another MUA who gave me MAC Studio finish concealer in NC35. It did match a lot better than what she was trying and I bought it. I used that concealer for sometime while continuously searching for other methods to conceal too because my dark circles where still showing through that concealer.

I’m back with a new makeup look after so long. As you know I am a fan of colourpop eyeshadows. I wanted to use one of their shadows which is called So Quiche. It is a beautiful brown colour with lots of multi coloured shimmer. I dont know what it is with me and shimmer shadows but I absolutely love them. Colourpop has hands down some of the best eyeshadows out there and I cannot wait to get a few more of their shadows. The lipstick I used in this look is also from Colourpop. So I’m back with another makeup look today. Colourpop eyeshadows are literally my favourite ones. Ever since I got them, I have found a way of using them in almost every look I do. I either use them as a base or just to add some shimmer to any looks. There is one that I got a while ago which came broken but hasnt affected my love for it at all. It’s called I heart this (I <3 this) and is such a stunning silver with multi dimensional glitter that can be toned down for everyday looks or can be layered for a shimmery eye.
I originally planned on doing a cut crease look but somehow I just couldnt do it and ended up with a smokey eye. I still love how it came out though. I have used this eyeshadow once before in this makeup look here. For a natural day time look you can use it with a light brown shade in the crease and for a more night time look it can be paired with a dark smokey shadow.
Somehow I feel my DSLR washes the colours in some pictures. I am still figuring out the perfect lighting for doing these kind of looks. This one was shot in a different room, let me know which one you like better. The natural light in this room was lesser than what I had in the drawing room.
The lips are Colourpop Ultra matte lips in the shade Beeper. Beeper is one of those shades which first goes on lighter but when it settles down it becomes a bit darker. I am honestly loving all of the colours in the Foxy lip set that I got. The shades are perfect for Indian skintones.

I’m back with another easy peasy look. I was watching a show yesterday and really liked the makeup on one of the girls. She paired up a matte brown eye with a light pink lip. That made me remember how much I always thought I would do that look and then completely forgot all about it. I think brown eyeshadow is something that can go well with any kind of lip colour. Using a pink colour with brown just brings a lot of freshness to the face. I chose to go with matte brown because I am always using these shimmery colours and wanted to do something different this time. I went for a golden inner corner highlight because I wanted my eyes to stand out more. This is totally a look you could tone down for everyday.
Please excuse my hair, I had just washed it and chose to blow dry my bangs which just made the rest of the hair go crazy. It has grown so long especially the bangs. Seems like a haircut is due 😀
