Revlon Eye Art in Desert Dazzle review!

Hey Lovelies

I am back with another review which is not Colourpop 😛 I’m sure if you follow my blog, you must have an idea by now that I love glitter. Sparkly, blingy shadows are my thing. The first time I saw someone use these Eye Arts was on the youtuber Farah Dhukai’s channel. She used one in a different colour (sorry cant remember the shade name) and I just started searching the Internet for these. Sadly back then these had not yet launched in India so I forgot about them for a few days. Then on my visit to a mall, I saw these on Revlon counter happily calling out to me <3 I just had to check out the shades. Sadly not all the colours were launched in India so I couldnt get the one Farah used, but I settled for another beautiful olive green shade. Hues of green really look so nice on Indian skintones as they bring out the brown eyes. I have been collecting a lot of green shadows lately and this is another one those that I love. Read on to know more 🙂

So how these eye arts work is that you have to first apply the base colour on the eyelid and blend it out and wait for sometime for it to dry. Once it is dry, you go over it with the glitter part. A few things to note about the base colour – first it is kind of a liquid texture on a doe foot kind of an applicator so make sure to cover the entire lid with it, second is that it dries really really fast so you should take a brush and just blend it out as soon as you can otherwise you will be left with sharp edges which are a major no no when it comes to eye makeup.

You can even use the base shadow alone and blend it out with some nice browns in the crease to get a not so blingy look. It also has very very fine shimmer which gives a good highlighted look to the eye. It does feel a bit like paint on the eyelids but it does not bother much. The glitter part has an applicator like you find in MAC lip glosses. It is very easy to apply the shimmer using that. I would say wait atleast 2-3 minutes to let the green part dry and then go over with the golden shimmer.

I read on the internet that some people found the shimmer to be tacky and sticky but luckily I never felt any of those things with mine. I wore it for a full day and it looked as nice as it did when I first put it on.

The best part about this shimmer is that it does not go all over the place when you use it. With loose glitters you have to be very careful to not let it ruin the rest of your makeup. In that context I found this so effortless. I am honestly so surprised that I have not seen more reviews on this product since it launched. It is absolutely fabulous if you ask me.

The staying power is so nice. Since it’s a liquid kind of a formulation it does not crease much. I would say do not itch or rub your eyes because then you might end up peeling it off a bit. The pigmentation is really amazing too. I love this thing. If it wasnt this expensive, I would surely go buy more of these.
