StudioWest Extreme Eye Liner in Olive Review!

Hey girls

I’m back with another product review. I was just wandering around the makeup in westside (intentionally wandering there ofcourse ;)) and realized that its been ages since they came out with their makeup line and I havent tried any of their products. There was nothing in particular that I wanted so I decided on getting a pencil liner. I am not too much into pencil liners because I prefer winged liner and its harder to do a wing with a pencil liner. Plus I have oily and a bit of hooded eyelids and all of the pencil ones just transfer to the top of my lid. Read on to know what I think of this one 🙂

The really good part about these products is that they are very affordable. Almost everything they carry comes at pocket friendly prices. I really liked those eyeshadow palettes. The pigmentation on them looked amazing. I didnt need any more shadows so I skipped those but if you are looking for a new easy to use eyeshadow palette then do check out the ones they have in their range.

Coming back to the pencil liner, I got the shade Olive because its such a beautiful oliver green and I dont have any colours like it in my eyeliner collection. It’s a beautiful green with very very fine gold shimmer that only becomes visible in certain angles. I think this can even be used as a base for eyeshadows but I have not yet tried it that way.

The liner is very pigmented and smooth and goes on smoothly. It does not drag or feel dry at all. I need a two swipes to get full blown pigmentation. Nothing really to complain on the texture or the pigmentation end.

My main issue with this liner is with the staying power of it. My eyelids are a bit oily and it keeps on getting transferred onto the upper part of my eyelid like almost every other pencil liner I have tried. Its honestly so annoying. This one just transfers way sooner than the other ones I have. I mean I literally lost so much of it to my top lid in an hour or so. I wouldnt recommend this to people with oily or hooded lids like mine. By the end of 4 to 5 hours I still had some of it on my eyelids but not a lot really. Next time I will top it with an olive green eyeshadow to make it last longer.

Overall, I really love the colour and the texture but I am a bit led down by the staying power and the way it smudges on the top lid. If you have not so oily lids then give this a go 🙂

PROS:

1. Goes on smooth

2. Pigmented

3. Affordable

4. Does not drag

CONS:

1. Staying power

2. Transfers

My rating – 3.5/5

Let me know what StudioWest prpducts you like! 🙂

Love-

  2. I have the black one this, this was OOS so could not buy. very pretty shade and looks really nice on your eyes. Even with the black I see that on oily/bare lids it fades faster.
    Nice review 🙂

  4. Such a beautiful color it is. I am also facing the same transfer problem these days with any liner. Thinking to go for eye primer before applying any eye product. Nicely reviewed dear. xoxo
