The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil review!

Heya girls

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I have been pretty busy at work and have a lot of things going on lately. I recently got two bad looking zits on my face and I tried everything to get rid of them asap. Today I thought I would review one of the products that I used as a part of that. You have seen my previous post with some more information on the Tea Tree oil by the Body Shop. Incase you missed that post, it is here.

So first of all, the product comes in a tiny glass bottle with a screw on cap that you have to remove after pressing down first. There is a nozzle on the top. Personally, I have never had any problems with the amount of product that comes out. Usually it’s just a drop or two. That’s all I need for any zits anywhere.

The actual liquid is almost like water. It’s clear and applies easy. Now I use my fingers only but I make sure I wash them nicely with an anti bacterial handwash first. I tried using it with a Q tip but that kept on absorbing all of it so I just prefer the fingers.

Coming to the performance of it, it mainly works on any big zits which you classify as a pimple. For just random allergy things popping up it does not do much. The funny part is, when I got this I was thinking hey I have no acne, how should I test it out. God must have heard that and he gave me two zits within days ahahah.

First time, I just tried using it at night but it did not reduce the inflammation or size of the pimple. Then I read some reviews and researched it and found that I can apply it more than once. Then I increased the frequency to thrice a day and to my surprise it started improving the size of the zit. One of the zits went away within two days, the other one I still have, it is a lot reduced in size compared to before and now I have reduced the frequency to twice a week. The good part it, this prevented that from becoming an infected kind of zit and reduced it before it got worse. Do not expect any results immediately. It does take about 2-3 days before they start shrinking up. Also another thing to note that you should use it atleast twice a day to have it act faster. After my zit is gone, I will keep on testing it and update this post to tell you all if it helped in reducing the marks on it.

Another thing, it does sting a bit and dries out the skin where you apply it. After your zit is gone you should definitely keep up the moisturizing routine.

Overall, I am very impressed with the product. If you have really acne prone skin this is the product for you but if you do not have that much of an acne problem you can probably give this one a skip.

PROS:

1. Reduces inflammation

2. Shrinks the zit in size

3. Easy to apply

4. Reduces the redness and keeps infection at bay

CONS:

1. Expensive

2. Takes atleast two days for the results to show

My rating – 4.5/5

See you all soon 🙂
